Uniting Eabrai is a residential aged-care facility in Canberra supporting people living with early to moderate dementia through a strong focus on preserving independence and familiarity. The refurbishment works called for an upgrade across the existing facility, including refreshed landscapes and the conversion of an existing household into a Special High Care Dementia Unit. Additional scopes included joinery, fixtures and finishes, as well as the coordination of themed elements and artwork to support a warm, engaging environment.
Okane stayed close to the work on site, coordinating contractors, staging and day-to-day decisions to keep the facility running with minimal impact on residents and staff. Clear communication, steady planning and a calm presence underpinned every stage. The result? A considered refurbishment that strengthens resident care without unsettling the rhythm of daily life in a sensitive environment.
